A Cause for Paws!
Pagosa Fun! and Rugby’s Rescue House, a local dog rescue, (www.rugbysrescue.com) would like to invite you to an exciting family friendly event! We are hosting the Second Annual “Brews for Rescues" Beer Fest, SW Colorado’s first Dog-Centric beer fest that is just as much for your dog as it is for you!
On Saturday, April 29, 2023, the region’s favorite breweries will come to Pagosa Springs, Colorado to showcase some of their best craft-beer and raise money for Rugby’s Rescue House, an amazing non-profit organization. Enjoy beer from Eddyline, Ska, Marble Brewing, Second Street Brewing, Breckenridge Brewing and many more!
Rugby's Rescue is a small non-profit rescue dedicated to "Rescuing, Saving, and Repeating" the process. Their main focus is rescuing dogs from surrounding Native American Reservations, where the growing dog population has been a big problem.
The event will be hosted at Yamaguchi Park in Pagosa Springs, CO along the San Juan River with sweeping views of the San Juan Mountains. The day starts at noon with a community dog walk. After the walk, the doors open and the beer tasting begins. During the tasting there will be a costume contest, owner look-a-like contest, best trick contest and lots more fun! Rugby’s Rescue House will also have dogs and puppies available for adoption. This is really a day for the dogs! Last year we had over 7 dogs adopted out to their forever homes.
The beer tasting will take place from 1-5 pm. We will have beer vendors as well as vendors providing fun stuff for your pooch – toys, food, treats etc...
You may bring your well behaved dog with you to the beer tasting.
Ruby's Rescue House appreciates the support and funds raised go towards shelter, meds, food, spay and neuter programs and much more.

The Background
Rugby's Rescue house was established in December 2019. Its founder, Amy Wilson, has worked in the veterinary industry for over 20 years and seen first hand the homeless and neglected dogs coming from the surrounding Indian reservations. In August 2005, Amy and her husband Rok adopted their first rescue dog after Hurricane Katrina. Rugby lived a very happy life until he passed away in November of 2018 at the age of 17. That is when Amy knew she wanted to start the rescue to fill the void Rugby left in their hearts. Since then our mission has always been to "Rescue, Save, and Repeat" the process while educating the community about the importance of spay/ neutering and vaccinations.
